MuleSoft Certified Developer - Level 2 Certification is for eligible learners that have a current MuleSoft Certified Developer - Level 1 Certification. The MCD - Level 1 Certification may be achieved through passing one of the following exams in the past 2 years:
- MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1 Delta exam (not available after 6/30/22)
- MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1 exam
- MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1 (MuleSoft 認定開発者 Level 1, MCD)
- MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1 MAINTENANCE exam
- MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1 (MuleSoft 認定開発者 Level 1, MCD)
- MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1 MAINTENANCE (MuleSoft 認定開発者 Level 1, MCD メンテナンス)
The following are not eligible prerequisites for MCD - Level 2 Certification:
- MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1 Certification that has expired
- MuleSoft Certified Developer – Integration and API Associate (Mule 3) Certification
- MuleSoft Certified Developer – Integration and API Professional (Mule 3) Certification
What if my current MCD - Level 1 Certification is expired or expiring soon?
If you have a Mule 3 Certification that is expired or expiring soon you can take and pass the following to upgrade to the current MCD - Level 1 Certification:
- MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1 exam
- MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1 (MuleSoft 認定開発者 Level 1, MCD)
If you have a MuleSoft Certified Developer - Level 1 (Mule 4) Certification that is expiring soon you can take and pass one of the following exams to maintain your MCD - Level 1 (Mule 4) Certification:
- MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1 MAINTENANCE exam
- MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1 MAINTENANCE (MuleSoft 認定開発者 Level 1, MCD メンテナンス)
- MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 2 exam
- The MCD - Level 2 exam will extend your MCD - Level 1 Certification for two years and grant you your MCD - Level 2 Certification for two years.
If you have a MuleSoft Certified Developer - Level 1 Certification that is expired you can take and pass one of the following exams to renew your MCD - Level 1 Certification:
- MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1 exam
- MuleSoft Certified Developer - Level 1 (MuleSoft 認定開発者 Level 1, MCD)
- After renewing your MCD - Level 1 Certification, you can then take the MCD - Level 2 Certification exam.
What is the cost of the MuleSoft Certified Developer - Level 2 Certification exam?
If you have a current MuleSoft Certified Developer - Level 1 Certification, you may purchase the exam for $400 USD. This purchase includes one free exam retake.
Additional retakes (i.e. attempts 3 to 5) cost $200 each and do not include a free retake.
If the learner completes BOTH of the following Production Ready courses and holds a current MCD - Level 1 Certification, two free exam attempts will be placed in their learner dashboard.

When does my certification expire?
All MuleSoft certifications expire two years from the issue date. To renew your MCD - Level 2 Certification, you will need to pass the MuleSoft Certified Developer - Level 2 exam again. This will also renew your current MCD - Level 1 Certification.
